I can't work out if what is happening is good, bad or indifferent. I have come across a couple of single mums who are worried about what happens to the HE and their child/ren if they are forced onto job seekers allowance; but they both seem savvy and have other ideas of how to work and HE. Hard, but better than the school option.

I bet it is not good news the same civil servants such as Penny jones will be helping to draw up any new laws or guildlines on home education!
we still had no answer to our letter to M.Gove and our own M.P D hinds has now sent a 2nd request for an answer!

Hi mum6kids, are you on facebook? There is a lot of discussion there about changing the guidelines and whether CME guidance? should be changed first. Of course it is not up to us (so they think) but there is at least some listening going on and Ralph Lucas is involved in a thread on Home Ed Forums, hmm maybe someone needs to blog all this.

Hi Carol Perhaps you should visit your MP, are you contacting him through they work for us, it is more public and harder to ignore, can't remember if I have said this on another post but Flickr got my MP to sit up and smell the coffee, they seem to think all this public relations stuff only works one way, lol.

You can not visit our M.P he does not have a surgery He has been to our house before last election. He knows we wont let it go so he wont be able to just fob us off! I give him anther week then we will take further action!
The person behind a lot of this is that Penny Jones she was Badman contact in London she was overseeing it all she is very hostile to home education and will still be advising M.Gove M.P she is very crafty comes over all nice with that fake smile!

Is it ok for an MP not to have a surgery? Wonder if there are some pertinent FOI questions could be asked re Penny Jones and her activities?

yes it is ok for an M.P to not have a surgery there is no rule that says an M.P has to have a surgery most do of course i think it is possble to arrange a meting with him at the local conservetive club but i give him anther week then i will take action.
Im sure we could ask FOI about Penny Jones and her activities maybe we both could!

I am a little reluctant to engage with FOI's atm as they are still stealing large chunks of my life as I still have many outstanding complaints and don't find the ICO's office any better than the DCSF to deal with tbh but will give it a think.

dont worry every one must do what there can i will make a FOI over Penny.
